Weekend Incentive Program 12 hr X 3 DAY OR NIGHT shifts Fri, Sat Sun OR Sat, Sun Mon Hourly rate + weekend shift differential + weekend incentive premium OF $5.00/hour **Sign on bonus and tuition reimbursement available POSITION SUMMARY: The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers care to residents while ensuring all applicable laws, regulations, and company standards are met. Reports to Director of Nursing (DON). ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: CLINICAL: * Knowledgeable of nursing practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing functions in the long-term care facility; we are happy to teach new graduates and nurses new to the Long Term and Skilled Nursing. * Knowledgeably and competently deliver basic nursing care to residents. * Must be able to evaluate resident’s needs through ongoing assessment and revises care plan based on changes in resident’s condition. * Chart appropriately and timely within our electronic medical record. * Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment. * Interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess resident’s condition. * Monitor, record and report symptoms and changes in residents’ conditions. * Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records. * Modify resident treatment plans as indicated by residents’ responses and conditions. * Monitor all aspects of care, including diet and physical activity. * Consult and coordinate with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate resident care plans. * Instruct individuals, families on topics such as health education, disease prevention, and develop health improvement programs. * Prepare residents for, and assist with, examinations and treatments. * Prepare rooms, sterile instruments, equipment and supplies, and ensure that stock of supplies is maintained. * Assist in the evacuation of residents. LEADERSHIP: * Leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise professional and non-professional personnel. * Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. * Plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the Nursing department. * Understand and follow company policies, including harassment and complaint procedures. * Provide clinical supervision to LPNs and CNAs. * Actively participate in Quality Improvement activities. PROFESSIONAL: * Must be dependable, regular attendance. * Communicate and function in an interdisciplinary team. * Maintain current knowledge of nursing practice. Education and Experience: * Education: Possess a diploma, AS or BS degree in nursing. * Experience: Six months to one year related experience; new graduates are considered! Skills and Abilities: * Knowledge and use of Electronic Medical Records and/or solid computer skills * Strong communication skills, both in writing and verbally * Effective leadership skills and/or ability to invest in growing this skill * Read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Certificates and Licenses: * Must be currently registered/licensed in Maine. * Must have CPR certification upon hire or obtained during orientation. CPR certification must remain current during employment.
