Description

The Idaho Department of Correction is the 3rd largest employer in Idaho state government. This announcement will be used to fill a current opening in Management Services Division, Health Services and will report to the Director of Health Services. The incumbent oversees a multi-faceted comprehensive health care contract and residents health care provided in county jails and out of state facilities. This position will require some travel. Correctional experience is preferred.
Hiring lists may be created from open competitive, IDOC Department Promotional, or Statewide promotional applicants. The applications may also be used for future vacancies that may occur within the next six (6) months.

Example of Duties
Conduct medical audits
Monitor health care operations including case management/utilization review
Serve as a resource on policies and procedures
Provide consultation and coordinate program activities with other departments, agencies and provider/client groups to ensure program effectiveness

Minimum Qualifications
Licensed as a Professional or Registered Nurse in Idaho as defined by Idaho Code 54-1408 or state licensure as a Registered Nurse pursuant to the Nurse Licensure Compact, Idaho Code 54-1418, in one of the following compact states: Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, or Wisconsin. (Required at the time of appointment)
Good knowledge of supervisory practices
Experience assessing nursing practices for compliance with policies and procedures and recommending appropriate actions

SPECIALITY QUALIFICATION
- Willing to work in an adult correctional facility
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION:
Experience making at least two oral presentations to groups using a lesson plan or program of instruction
Knowledge of a correctional health care environment
