Newport Meadows Nursing and Rehab is searching for a Nurse Educator (RN) to strengthen our nursing team!

Duties & Responsibilities
Works in conjunction with DON/ADON to provide education related to quality assurance
Utilize company policies and procedures, job descriptions, quality assurance surveys, regulations, etc., to identify, plan, implement, and evaluate learning experiences
Plans, coordinates, conducts learning programs, including State approved geriatric nursing assistant training program, for employees based on identified needs
Assist guest instructors as needed
Evaluates the effectiveness of learning programs
For all new employees, coordinates individual department orientation, working cooperatively with department heads.
Assure that established policies and procedures are followed and recommend revisions
Supervise the training and orientation of all staff
Interpret principles of management to nursing supervisors and management personnel
Maintain clear lines of authority and responsibility utilizing organizational chart
Works closely with department heads, assessing the on-going learning needs of employees in order to meet the needs of the residents, the organization, and the employees
Knowledge of company's goals and objectives, policies and procedures of Federal, State, and Local regulations
Qualifications
Have a minimum 3 years of experience as a Nurse Educator in Long Term Care
Possess a PA State Registered Nurse (RN) License
Demonstrate ability to creatively educate and coach
Are CPR trainer certified
Have experience training in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices
Possess the ability to interact, educate, coach and communicate with a wide cross-section of individuals in a courteous, tactful and effective manner
Possess knowledge of emergency preparedness, safety, fire, disaster, OSHA and infection control procedures
