Sutter Health Registered Nurse, Medical/Surgical, Limited Term in Davis, California

Position Overview:

The Registered Nurse in the Acute Care setting manages the patient/family experience through utilization of critical thinking, teamwork, effective communication, and nursing judgment/knowledge/skills.

Qualifications:

Education:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred.

Licensure and Certifications:

CA state RN or CA RN Interim Permittee. Basic Life Support certification for the Healthcare Provider.

Experience:

Acute nursing experience preferred.

Skills and Knowledge:

Must have demonstrated knowledge of basic nursing skills and effective English written and communication skills. Independently practices and prioritizes multiple demands in an ever-changing environment. Good interpersonal, communication (both oral and written) and teamwork skills are required.

Unit specific:

  • Completion of Medical-Surgical Unit orientation.

  • Demonstrates competency in:

  • Respiratory therapy treatments.

  • Chest tube

  • Care of patient with PCA

  • Management of epidural

  • Skin wound management

  • Airway management

  • Central venous pressure monitoring
