A day in the life of a Nurse Manager in Labor & Delivery at Hackensack Meridian includes:
Responsible for the organization, leadership and coordination of unit management on a 24-hour basis.
Maintains the standards of the Nurse Practice Act of the State of New Jersey.
Supports and interprets the philosophy and objectives of the John F. Kennedy Medical Center and the Department of Nursing to staff, patients and families.
Insures an optimal level of care for all patients by coordinating, teaching and counseling appropriate staff.
Assists in the development of divisional and unit philosophy through budgets, goals and objectives, performance improvement, continuing education programs and participating in in-house supervision.
Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
Bachelors of Science in Nursing preferred, Bachelors of Arts or Bachelors of Science in health related fields is acceptable, but Pursuit toward degree required.
NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License
AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification (BLS)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (ACLS)
Minimum of five years satisfactory experience as a Registered Nurse.
Experience as an Assistant Nurse Manager or comparable leadership role with knowledge and application of management concepts.
Expertise in teaching ability and patient care.
