Position Summary
Provides quality nursing care through the application of the nursing process using evidence based practice focusing on excellent outcomes and patient experience within the framework of Shared Governance.

Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Required:
All hires after September 1, 2020 are required to have a Bachelor's Degree in nursing.
Preferred:
None
Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation):
Required:
- 3 or more years RN experience preferably acute care experience
Inpatient Float requires med surge experience
Procedure Float requires telemetry experience
Preferred:
Specialty training for critical care.
License, Registry or Certification:
Required:
Current NJ RN licensure, American Heart Association CPR certification, ACLS. PALS certification required for staff that work in Emergency Dept., inpatient Pediatrics and /or MNCC.
Crisis Prevention (CPI) training is required and must be renewed annually. Must obtain CPI certification within 6 months of hire/transfer.

Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:
Required:
Must pass annual clinical competency based program and mandated in-service education. Unit specific skills may include but not limited to IV therapy, basic arrhythmia interpretation, vent training, critical care, conscious sedation, Bi-Pap/CPAP and EndTidal CO2. Skills will be determined by a challenge exam and/or skill performance or by completion of a Staff Development course.
Must be cross trained by specialty:
Inpatient Unit RN float requires cross training for medical/surgical unit, surgical unit, intermediate care unit, cardiac unit, emergency department, pediatrics, maternity and child care center (MNCC) and critical care. Appropriate patient assignment based on cross training completion.
Procedure Unit RN float requires cross training for Radiology/Interventional Radiology, Cardiac Cath Lab Procedure Care Unit, Endoscopy pre and post procedure care.
