Job Summary:

  • Demonstrates clinical competence and serves as resource and mentor for staff in the clinical arena.
  • Assumes responsibility for decisions and actions in the lead clinical role.
  • Conducts thorough and complete orientation of all incoming employees in a timely manner.
  • Provides opportunities for employee development.
  • Utilizes quality improvement as basis to improve unit/department process and maintains unit readiness for regulatory surveys.
  • Manages expenses to stay within budgetary guidelines.
  • Works with Director to monitor productivity and explain variances.
  • Assists Director in maintaining payroll records and transmits payroll to meet deadlines when needed.
  • Supervises and maintains equipment and implements infection control measures in accordance with applicable safety standards to ensure patient safety.

  • Registered Nurse from accredited school of nursing with RN diploma or Associates of Science in Nursing

  • Current Licensure as registered professional nurse in Virginia

  • 3 Years of RN experience in Emergency Department or Critical Care setting with demonstrated proficiency in leadership and management skills required

  • BLS certification required, ACLS and PALS certification required within 6 months of hire or start date in position. Non-violent Crisis Intervention certification must be obtained within 60days of hire or start in position.
