How will you make an impact?

Manage and c oordinates all pre-employment processes and monitoring periodically the routine medical programs and initiatives for Manati, PR site.

What will you do?

  • Coordinates pre-employment and routine medical monitoring program, which includes (audiometry, spirometry, visual testing etc.), clinical tests and medical examinations.

  • Conducts medical surveillance in consultation with site physician.

  • Provides direction and support to the site physician.

  • Liaise with EHS over the introduction of new compounds to the facility to ensure adequate monitoring is undertaken to ensure the safe handling of potent pharmaceuticals.

  • Provide care and advice for the treatment of occupational and non-occupational illnesses and injuries.

  • Ensures the provision of first aid supplies and medical equipment in the facility.

  • Coordinates collection of data and test results

  • Assist physician with collection and preparation of data results for evaluation of the program

  • Communicate test results to employees, make recommendations and prepare treatment plans in coordination with the site physician.

  • Provide support to physicians and set-up appointments for referrals, treatment plans etc.

  • Manages administrative functions such as:

  • Maintain and ensure calibration of Dispensary equipment.

  • Administer record-keeping for all activities.

  • Coordinate First Aid training and CPR programs.

  • Maintain First Aid records and statistics.

  • Maintain an SOP system covering all occupational health policies.

  • Conducts Dispensary training as required (ie: new hire training, SOP's revision training etc.).

  • Liaise and support to Site Management and HR re: current and pending claims status and return to work program.

  • Modified work/medical restrictions - liaise with MD/Occupational Health Physician, ADA Advisor, Colleagues Services Coordinator, HR, employee and departmental supervisor.

  • Conduct ergonomic assessments or physical demands analyses, as needed.

  • Provide health/medical direction and support to the Safety Committee regarding Health Promotion Programs (i.e. technical advice and educational materials - pamphlets, booklets, etc).

  • Support Short/Long term disability.

  • Reports employee absenteeism with the medical certificate.

How will you get here?


Bachelor Degree in Nursing, required

Certification in audiometric, spirometry testing and first aid/CPR, preferable


  • At least 1 to 3 years of experience in a pharmaceutical or manufacturing environment.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Self-starter, mature, independent and dependable.

  • Effective time management, multitasking and prioritization skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SAP maintenance system.

  • Demonstrates ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality, discretion and independent judgment.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers, including tact to handle sensitive matters.

  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing in Spanish and English.
