Optum Registered Nurse in Monument, Colorado
Responsible for providing professional nursing care by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care of patients under the supervision of a clinician, RN Supervisor, or RN Charge Nurse. Delegate tasks as needed to professionals and para-professional employees. Coordinate activities and work closely with clinicians and staff to maintain efficient department functions and ensure successful operation of the department.

Perform various simple to moderately complex, comprehensive patient assessments, tests and procedures within the scope of practice of a Registered Nurse.
Obtain, interpret, record, and report vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure), height, weight, and other pertinent patient information to clinician.
Prepare patient for examination and other procedures.
Develop and implement a nursing plan of care by performing nursing interventions and assisting with procedures.
Instruct patient on procedural preparations.
Administer medication and other therapeutic modalities within the scope of practice of a Registered Nurse.
Collect, label, and transport various specimens to appropriate destinations.
Perform patient and family teaching.
Maintain clinical standards outlined in the clinical operations policies and procedures manual. Identify deficiencies and recommends changes.
Document and maintain records of medical and nursing procedures.
Coordinate with clinicians and ancillary departments to plan daily work assignments according to staff abilities, clinician and patient schedules, patient flow, and procedures.
Ensure adequate levels of supplies and all equipment is maintained.
Perform telephone screening and advice under the direction of clinician.
Direct patients to appropriate levels of care and authorize outside services.
Notify pharmacies of new prescriptions and authorizations of refills as ordered by clinician.
Adheres to Universal Precautions and safety policies and procedures at all times.
Perform all other job duties as directed by the supervisor or manager.
Minimum: Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
Minimum: Current State RN license.
Minimum: Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (AHA) or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (American Red Cross).
Preferred: Specialty certifications in OR, OB, GI, ER, CEN or CCRN.
Preferred: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and/or Pediatric Life Support (PALS) certifications.
Preferred: IV therapy and phlebotomy certification.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
Minimum: 1-3 years of RN experience.
Preferred: 5 or more years of RN experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Skilled in phlebotomy and IV therapy.
Manual dexterity to use and handle equipment and instruments.
Proficient written and verbal communication skills
Adapt to a fast-paced environment and multi-task under pressure.
Must be a problem solver, detail oriented, reliable, and a self-starter.

For Colorado Residents Only: The hourly range for Colorado residents is $25.75 to 39.00/hour.
