Position Highlights

  • Work location: Texas Health Plano

  • Work environment: Neurosciences (Neurosurgery & Stroke)

  • Work hours: Full Time, 40 Hours - 4, 10-hour days, Monday–Friday and rotating weekends.

  • Salary range: $51.49- $75.68 per hour (based on relevant experience)

Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano is a 366-bed, Magnet-designated hospital and recognized clinical leader, providing technologically advanced care to Plano, Frisco and surrounding communities since 1991. This full-service facility features a full range of specialties including emergency medicine, cardiology, adult and adolescent behavioral health, pediatrics, an adult intensive care unit, state of the art and technologically advanced surgical services and a Level IV NICU. Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree Graduate of an accredited nursing program required AND

  • Master’s Degree Graduate of Nurse Practitioner program required

  • Other – CLIAFE – Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required

Experience

  • 2 years of experience as Nurse Practitioner preferred

  • Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification preferred

  • 1 year experience in Neuro or ICU preferred

Licenses and Certifications

  • RN – Registered Nurse upon hire required AND

  • APRN – Advance Practice Registered Nurse upon hire required AND

  • NP – Nurse Practitioner upon hire required

  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 30 days preferred And

  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support (prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly) required

Position Responsibilities

  • Utilizes principles and skills in communication and interviewing techniques in obtaining a comprehensive health history to formulate a plan of care and make decisions for appropriate therapeutic

  • Uses principles and skills in advanced health assessment for differentiating normal and abnormal findings

  • Synthesizes knowledge of physiology, pathophysiology, culture, and socioeconomics to access, evaluate, and provide therapeutic interventions to patients

  • Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to improve care processes in order to promote continuity of care

  • Initiates actions to meet patients/families’ needs

  • Takes actions to reduce patients risks

  • Performs specialty specific technical procedures safely and proficiently

  • Produces documentation that initiates, follows, and revises patients' plan of care

  • Focuses on adherence to clinical pathways, protocols, and policies to ensure high reliability of clinical program

  • Promotes population health through the evaluation of care delivery models as they pertain to community, environmental, cultural and socio-economical dimensions of health.
