Registered Nurse, Neonatal ICU Level IV – Full-time, Nights

Texas Health Plano, a MAGNET facility, is the first in Collin County and in Texas Health Resources to earn the state’s highest designation – Level IV Neonatal ICU
Work location: Texas Health Plano
Work environment: Level IV Neonatal ICU:
45-bed Level IV Neonatal ICU
Skills: Total body Cooling, Nitric, Amplitude EEG, ventilators, Oscillators, CPAP, Bubble CPAP
All surgeries, except for no complex cardiac or neuro surgeries
Provide 24-hour comprehensive care to premature, high-risk and critically ill infants
Multidisciplinary specialist team that includes medical staff neonatologists, pediatric radiologists and surgeons as well as neonatal respiratory and occupational therapists.
• Work Hours: Full-time – (3) 12-hour shifts per week, rotating schedule with some weekend and holiday requirements; Night shift, 6:45PM-7:15AM.
• Salary set rate: $ 26.50 to $50.82 per hour (based on relevant RN experience) + great shift differentials, and full benefits package

This full-service facility features a full range of specialties including emergency medicine, cardiology, adult and adolescent behavioral health, pediatrics, an adult intensive care unit, state of the art and technologically advanced surgical services and a Level IV NICU. Texas Health Plano has more than 1,600 employees and over 1,360 physicians on its medical staff in more than 65 specialties. The hospital is an Advanced Level III Trauma Facility, accredited Chest Pain Center by The Joint Commission, named “Best Place to Have a Baby” in Collin County and a Gold-Level Mother Friendly business. Texas Health Plano is the recipient of the Disease Specific Care Certifications from the Joint Commission in Chest Pain, Joint Replacement – Hip and Joint Replacement – Knee and an Advanced Certification as a Primary Stroke Center.
Associate Degree in Nursing; BSN preferred
Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
Other - CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency Required
BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support certification through the American Heart Association required upon hire
NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program required within 6 months of hire
PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support required within 6 months (pediatric only)
1 Year Experience as a clinical nurse (RN) or completion of an RN Residency program required
More than 2 years’ Neonatal ICU Level III or IV RN experience strongly preferred
In addition to the required qualifications, a successful RN will:

have basic computer skills using Medical management application systems
• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
• Assesses the patient
• Plans the care of the patient
• Intervenes as appropriate
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers
