THE OPPORTUNITY

The successful candidate will function as a member of a clinical team, will maintain patient flow and maximize the delivery of quality care to patients. Candidate must emphasize health promotion and disease prevention through patient education and coordination of care.

THE WORK

The Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner will provide primary and episodic care to patients ? independently and in collaboration with other medical professionals ? while following standards and protocols set by the sponsoring physician. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, their families and staff members

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Practice medicine using sound medical judgment and adhere to all ethical considerations of the practice of medicine, know limitations and seek consult when advisable and keep abreast of current technologies and industry standards

• Meet all clinical obligations of the medical practice: Accrediting Agency compliance, CLIA compliance, drug prescription compliance, HIPAA, State, Federal safety regulations

• Follow all internal policies and procedures

• Be accountable for completion of all operational tasks according to departmental guidelines to ensure appropriate clinical processing/documentation

• See patients in a timely and efficient manner, stay reasonably on time for scheduled appointments in family practice throughout the day, unless exceptional circumstances occur

• Be held accountable for their actions with regard to proper coding and appropriate charging for all services rendered

• Charting in the patient?s medical record routinely and complete on the same day as the patient?s visit

• Perform complete physical exams and assessments of patients including urgent, emergent and non-urgent presentation

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

• Certified as a nurse practitioner with current state licensure

• Two years previous professional nursing experience with 1-3 years experience as a practicing family nurse practitioner.

• Perform a comprehensive list of services, such as minor surgery (toe nail removal, mole and cyst removal and foreign object removal), suturing, fine needle aspirations, casting and splinting, general orthopedic evaluations and management of condition, review of x-rays and basic rehabilitation for musculoskeletal injuries

• General internal medicine, family medicine and pediatrics, general dermatology, eye problems, EKG interpretation

• General GYN expertise

• Define/document differential diagnoses and list differential diagnoses with most likely diagnoses included

• Write orders on physician order sheet for tests, procedures and the implementation and management of therapies in accordance with medical nursing protocols

• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as deemed necessary and appropriate for plan of care, in collaboration with supervising physician

• Interpret data and diagnostic results for appropriate course of action including but not limited to blood gases, radiology, EKG, etc. in collaboration with supervising physician

• Notate findings and treatment course in patient chart including follow-up notes

• Exhibit behavior which emphasizes compassion, quality, loyalty and conscientiousness

• Follows regulations and guidelines for writing prescriptions

• ACLS and BLS Certification Required

• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables

• Must have a high level of energy with the ability to adjust to any justifiable pace
