5 North: Hospitalists General Medicine/Observation Unit is very fast paced environment seeing a wide range of patients such as chest pain with possible interventional needs, outpatient surgical procedures requiring minimal post-operative monitoring, respiratory illnesses with low oxygen demand needs to general medicine patients. The medical management of our Observation Patients is that all tests and procedures are completed within 24 hours which is what creates such a fast-paced environment. The most enjoyable part of the job of caring for Observation Patients is that most patients are ambulatory and independent or with minimum assistance. If you are someone that likes something different every single day, this would the BEST place for you! This position is responsible for providing assistance with patient care activities and non-nursing tasks under the direct supervision of the RN and in cooperation with other nursing staff. This position requires providing services to one or more age populations, including infant through geriatric, in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served. This position requires full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Blessing Hospital. It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values while supporting the strategic plan, goals and direction of the Performance Improvement Process and Patient Safety Plan at Blessing Hospital.
High School Diploma or Equivalent; or, be of at least 16 years of age with an active C.N.A. certification in the State of Illinois
Good verbal communication skills
Must be one of the following: (N/A for PCA,SNA or PCT)
SNA- Must have completed at least sophmore year of a nursing curriculum.
