FT position available, primarily days, 8 hour shifts.

Responsibilities

Innovative psychiatric unit that does focus on the geriatric population with an assigned geriatric psychiatrist and treatment team. Manage staff that are driven to provide excellent care and show great compassion for psychiatric patients and who are trained to achieve and maintain a high standard of care for all. Manage a team that works well together and maintains professionalism as well as proficiency. The 3-9200/ECT clinic have continuously been TIER 1 units. Accountable for the clinical, human resource and fiscal aspects of psychiatric mental health nursing on an inpatient unit for a total of 11 beds and management of the outpatient and inpatient ECT clinic. 5 years of psychiatric nursing experience, Master's Degree in Nursing, 2 years of nursing management experience required.

Qualifications

Requires a Master's Degree in Nursing or related field and an active New York State license in good standing. Applicants will have 5 years experience as an RN with one to three years of leadership experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The Nurse Manager directs all aspects of patient care, which includes managing nursing personnel and material resources in a cost-effective manner, unit planning and the initiation of innovative clinical and management practices with emphasis on retention strategies.
