Under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse, the Nursing Assistant provides and supports direct patient care as guided by their training and in accordance with policy and our mission, vision and values.

  • Makes observations/collects health status data as assigned and/or delegated by the RN.

  • Reports and documents findings according to established guidelines.

  • Performs personal care/interventions as assigned and/or delegated by the RN according to policy, procedure, unit routine and patient need.

  • May transport medications (excluding controlled substances) on hospital campus.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire. Must be certified by the American Heart Association

Qualification/Skills

Related experience, skills and abilities:

  • One year of Acute Care or Long Term Care required

In addition, candidates should be self-motivated and able to work in a team setting, as well as possess strong communication, problem solving, customer service and critical thinking skills.

Work Schedule

•32 hours per week (0.8 FTE)

•Day/Evening Shifts

•Every other weekend

•Benefit Eligible

•L113 Contract
