Sutter Health Charge Nurse, Perinatal in Santa Cruz, California
Responsible and accountable for coordinating the delivery of care for Perinatal patients so that the physical, psychosocial, safety and learning needs of the patients and their families are addressed. Serves as patient advocate. Important dimensions of this position consist of quality of care and services, professional commitment, courtesy, teamwork, interpersonal skills, good public relations and a broad knowledge of the nursing process. Assists the Director with oversight and organization of quality patient care, supporting and mentoring staff, and maintaining appropriate staffing on specific shift. Must maintain knowledge of and comply with the JACHO National Patient Safety standards.Incumbent has access to Protected Health Information as needed to accomplish the duties outlined in this job description. This includes access to the entire medical record. Plans and provides safe patient care based on assessment, observations, patient’s needs and diagnosis, test results, physician orders and other pertinent information; performs accurate ongoing assessment of the Perinatal patient identifying, when applicable, labor progress, delivery needs and patient’s response to care. Accurately interprets patterns on fetal monitor tracing, identifying abnormal patterns; demonstrates knowledge of appropriate intervention and reporting.
Current California License as Registered Nurse.
Two years current experience in Perinatal nursing, including labor/delivery, postpartum and neonatal nursing.
Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP).
Certification in ACLS
- Previous supervisory experience.
