Join Harborview Medical Center's Pioneer Square/Downtown programs for a 50% FTE (20 hours per week), Day shift position as an ARNP; Nurse Practitioner; or PA-C, Physician Assistant. Harborview Medical Center is looking to hire an ARNP; Nurse Practitioner; or PA-C, Physician Assistant to work in our Pioneer Square Downtown programs which focus on Harborview's mission population to address health equity issues by increasing access to care in our unique primary care settings, homeless shelters, housing programs or community settings for people without housing or history of being vulnerable housing. This position is sited in one of our community partners drop in mental health programs. Must be skilled at taking care of people with comorbid conditions including substance use, mental illness and complex physical health conditions with the ability work collaboratively with an outside agency and transitions of care from ED or hospital discharge.

ARNP; Nurse Practitioner; or PA-C, Physician Assistant perform examinations, establish diagnoses, and determine appropriate treatment or referral for medical problems psychiatric, chemical dependency and developmental disability problems.

Provide medical care to patients including examinations, diagnosis, prescription and treatment within the scope of applicable licensure;

Record medical histories, perform physical examinations, order and/or perform diagnostic tests, evaluate test results, establish diagnoses and prescribe medication and/or treatments;

Provide health education; assist with proper utilization of community social and health care resources;

Assist in the clinical training of various levels of health care professionals, participate in continuing education;

Participate in research activities; conduct literature reviews, collect and collate research data; assist with the preparation of materials for publication;

Evaluate daily clinic staffing and adjust patient-flow accordingly;

Perform related duties as required.

Ability to work well with chemically dependent patients in a primary care setting. Ability to collaborate with outside agencies to facilitate primary care. Experience working with people who are homeless and economically disadvantaged Experience working with diverse populations including limited English proficiency and immigrants

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Nurse Practitioner: Master’s Degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing AND Washington State Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner License with prescriptive privileges AND National certification as a Nurse Practitioner AND ACLS certification OR Physician Assistant: Licensure as a Physician’s Assistant in the State of Washington with national certification from a national certifying body (NCCPA). Applicant must be eligible to receive hospital staff appointments for adjunct staff membership by the Organized Medial Staff of the hospital under Medical Staff By-Laws for hospital-based positions. AND ACLS certification
