Responsibilities: This position performs activities of daily living (ADLs) on a daily basis, provides patient care treatments including discontinuing IV's and restraint monitoring, and collects patient data including vital signs, weights, intake & output. This position also collects routine patient specimens such as urine, stool, and finger stick blood glucose as directed. Patient Care Assistants respond to call lights and requests, and assist nurses with procedures as requested. This position also documents and charts care provided in the electronic health record.Qualifications: Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) CPR Card required.AND one of the following:Completion of a certified nursing assistant (CNA) training program required, certification preferred (must have occurred in the last 5 years); ORExperience in an acute care/long term care setting as a Nursing Assistant (minimum 520 hours; must have occurred in the last 5 years) ORCompletion of one clinical rotation in a RN or LPN program within the past 12 monthsORExperience as an Emergency Room Technician (6 months at a minimum of 0.5 FTE)
